Abstract

PINEDA, Neida; JAIMES, Edgar  and  MENDOZA, José. Aplicación del índice de homogeneidad múltiple a datos climatológicos de Venezuela. INCI [online]. 2006, vol.31, n.11, pp.817-821. ISSN 0378-1844.

The Index of Multiple Homogeneity (IMH) measures the spatial and temporal homogeneity according to the exchange of matter, energy and information within and between the systems and the surrounding atmosphere. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the applicability of IMH to determine the homogeneity of the monthly average and maximum absolute values of the following climate elements: global radiation, insolation, temperature, rainfall, evaporation, relative humidity, wind speed, atmospheric pressure and cloudiness, measured and registered, most frequently, in meteorological stations of Venezuela. The climatological information collected in 21 meteorological stations between 1961 and 1990 was used. The automated processing of this data was done through Information System Automated of Lands Homogeneity (ISALH). The applicability of the IHM to the climatologic data of Venezuela was verified, determining two sequences of homogeneity between the studied climatic subsystems.
