Abstract
ORTEGA, Eduardo et al. Characterization of a tobamovirus isolated from canavalia (canavalia ensiformis l.) In an experime ntal parcel at aragua state, venezuela. INCI [online]. 2007, vol.32, n.3, pp.202-205. ISSN 0378-1844.
A Tobamovirus has been identified as being involved in a disease of canavalia in an experimental plot in the state of Aragua, Venezuela. Results from indicator plants and serological tests based on Western blots suggested that the Tobamovirus was a strain of tobacco mosaic virus (TMV). This was confirmed from the full sequence of the coat protein gene. Sequence analysis revealed that TMV isolated from diseased canavalia had a high identity (~98%) with TMV vulgare type sequences reported from Korea and Japan.
