The phenomenon of Social Responsibility of Enterprises (SER) is acquiring an ever increasing importance in enterprise management processes, due to a large extent to its increasing social demand. Its voluntary implementation leads to a new enterprise model that extends its concern towards a new dimension that can be synthesized in the concept of "sustainability", which comprises at the same level economic, social and environmental aspects. In the present paper it is made evident that the Fund for Education and Promotion (FEP), a single and characteristic part of the credit cooperativeness, since in its application are included the most relevant aspects attributable to a "socially responsible" conduct. Through an empirical study on the FEP for the Spanish case, it is shown that the main destinies of FEP are in consonance with the postulates of SER.
