Abstract

CURIEL CARIAS, Ernesto C. Kiron system: Toward integration of economic and ecologic values of Oikos. INCI [online]. 2007, vol.32, n.11, pp.742-748. ISSN 0378-1844.

The increasing housing demand in inter-tropical zones is compromising the stability of their ecosystems and of the biosphere as a whole. The dissociation between the organizational schemes of natural and artificial (including buildings and their economies) systems has contributed to this problem. This hinders the application of common concepts to support coherent answers to the heterogeneous ecological, economic and housing requirements. Based on a characterization of living systems and in a new organizational hierarchic level (Kiron system), some of the attributes that the economic dimension of buildings located in tropical protected areas should have are inferred herein, to help close the gap separating organizational schemes of natural and artificial systems.
