Resumen

CONTASTI, Max  y  MATHEUS, Edgar. Statistical formulas and procedures to measure in human populations the influence of heredity/environment in some continuous metrical variables. INCI [online]. 2009, vol.34, n.7, pp.457-462. ISSN 0378-1844.

The object of this work consists of the study and the analysis, from a statistical viewpoint, of different procedures and formulas used to calculate in human populations, the influence of inheritance/environment in some continuous phenotypic variables that can be measured with acceptable precision, such as stature, weight, arterial pressure, and intelligence. The document presents the analysis of the most important statistical and methodological limitations on the formulations considered and how, according to the cases, these limitations have been corrected and other new procedures of calculation have been generated to minimize them. From an epistemic and methodological point of view, up to 1974 research was oriented by the genetic approach that calculates the influence of the inheritance by means of the use of data on twins or other members of the family group. After that, the environment began to be considered like an additional variable for the statistical formulation in the analysis.
