Resumen

ZAMBRANO BULLONES, K; DAVILA, M  y  CASTILLO, M. A.. Detection of Fungi DNA fragments and their possible relation with entomopathogenic protein synthesis activity. Rev. Fac. Agron. [online]. 2002, vol.19, n.3, pp.185-193. ISSN 0378-7818.

Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae y Paecilomyces fumosoroseus are fungi with great potential for causing disease in Diatraea sacchralis larva. As such, they have great potential as biological controllers as long as specific isolates with high virulence capacity and efficiency can be produced in large quantities. This task can be achieved through genetic transformation which is possible today for some of the more interesting characteristics. In this research, utilizing the RAPD technique, through an analysis of amplification profiles of DNA segments from three entomo-pathogenic fungi isolated from the insect, fragments of OPD-131550, OPD-16950, OPD-16700, OPE-042000, OPE-041400, OPE-04850, OPE-05900, OPE-05650, OPE-07750, OPE-08650, OPE-10500, OPE-111300, OPE-111100, OPE-11550, OPE-11480, OPE-121400, OPE-12650, OPE-181300, OPE-18500, OPE-201000, OPE-20600 y OPE-20450 were found to be common to the three biological materials, which represent molecular markers of great utility to detect gene sequences that could confer to these fungi the capacity of causing disease in these species. These results suggest that this RAPD technique could be very useful in producing knowledge as to the codifying sequence for this characteristic.
