SALAZAR, M et al. Effects of tillage systems on four commercial variety of rice (Oryza sativa L.) in Barinas State, Venezuela. Rev. Fac. Agron. [online]. 2002, vol.19, n.3, pp.194-200. ISSN 0378-7818.
In order to evaluate the effect of tillage systems in rice Oryza sativa L. production, a trial was conducted in the experimental field La Quinta, Sabaneta, Alberto Arvelo Torrealba county in Barinas state, at 8° 49´00´´ north latitude and 70° 00´00´´ west longitude in a tropical dry forest zone, with a Fanfurria soil series. The tillage systems evaluated were total, conventional and minimum tillage using the rice varieties FONAIAP-2000, FUNDARROZ PN-1, CIMARRON and FONAIAP-1. A completely randomized block design was utilized, with factorial arrangement in divided plots and three replications. The variables evaluated were: yield component, days to flowering, plant height and crop yield. Significant differences (P£0,05) were found for the three tillage system evaluated with respect to crop yield, and highly significant differences (P£0,01) were found among varieties. The greatest yield was obtain with minimum tillage (5790,1 kg/ha).
