Resumen
MARK PLACENCIO, D y MORA-NUNEZ, O. Search of bean genotypes (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) with resistance to Quail pea mosaic virus. Rev. Fac. Agron. [online]. 2002, vol.19, n.3, pp.201-209. ISSN 0378-7818.
Six hundred six (606) bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivars were characterized by their reaction to mechanical inoculation with an isolate of the Quail pea mosaic virus. The objective was to select resistant cultivars to QPMV. Bases on the pathogenic interaction among the resistance genes to the Bean common mosaic virus, present in the evaluated cultivars and the isolares under study, resistant cultivars were not detected. However, P-518, V-Negra Canaria, P-7015R52, 2076, I-4, I-163, ICTA CHIMALTENANGO 86-48, MUS-12, Pinto-650, XAN-6, Nebraska-6 y BAT-1232 manifested symptom of a soft mosaic that could be indicative of possible "tolerance" to the virus. These cultivars, with previous evaluation in the field that showed low natural infection of the QPMV, could be used in programs for genetic improvement to this virus.
