Abstract

RAMIREZ, E  and  PINEDA, J. Distribution of Eutypa lata and Lasiodiplodia theobromae in vineyard zones in Venezuela. Rev. Fac. Agron. [online]. 2003, vol.20, n.1, pp.43-52. ISSN 0378-7818.

Dieback of grapevine caused by Eutypa lata Pers, Fr. and bot cancer caused by Lasiodiplodia theobromae, are important diseases worldwide. In Venezuela, L. theobromae was associated with dieback symptomatology observed in the vineyards of Zulia and Lara (El Tocuyo) States in 1983. In 1999, during a survey in Mara county (Zulia state), Carora, El Tocuyo and Siquisique (Lara state), E. lata and its anamorph Libertella blepharis were isolated from Carora and Mara samples, respectively; while L. theobromae was isolated from Carora, El Tocuyo and Siquisique samples. The results showed a noticiable pathogens distribution, which was associated with the temperature and relative humidity of these locations.

Keywords : Grapes; Vitis vinifera; Libertella blepharis; Lasiodiplodia theobromae; Eutypa lata.
