CHIRINOS, I. J. y MATTIAZZO, M. E. Variation on hydraulic conductivity of saturated soils related to wastes containing sodium. Rev. Fac. Agron. [online]. 2004, vol.21, n.1, pp.1-11. ISSN 0378-7818.
This paper intends to establish basic rules for land disposal of wastes containing sodium. The assesment of sodium effect was made throug experiments under lab conditions by relating exchangeable sodium percentage (ESP), sodium adsorption rate (SAR) of the percolating solution and saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ko) in three different soil types. It was shown that sodium effect is not the same for the three different soil types. Also the threshold concentration change with soil texture, and with the ESP of the soil. For the high cationic exchange capacity (CEC) clay soil the critical concentration was obteined at 50 m3 of waste per ha., for medium texture soil was higher than 200 m3 of waste per ha. and for the sandy texture soil was among 100-200 m3 of waste per ha.
