Resumen

RENDILES O, E; MARIN L, M; CASTRO DE R, C  y  FERRER M, O. Variation of foliar concentration of some nutrients in guava (Psidium guajava L.) and its relationship with crop yield. Rev. Fac. Agron. [online]. 2004, vol.21, n.1, pp.36-50. ISSN 0378-7818.

The variations in leaf nutrients concentrations and their relationship with guava yield were studied in an experimental field study in Mara county, Zulia state, Venezuela (11º 00’ LN -71º 00’ LW). Twenty four similar plants were chosen and organized in 4 groups. Fourty plant leaves from no fruiting shoots were harvested during six months, from January to June (first peak of production). Nutrients analysis performed in dry leaves sample for determination of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and Na, expressed in percentages on dry weight basis. Also, the Kilograms (weigth) and number of fruits (NF) were registered during the evaluation. It was found that foliar concentrations of minerals tended to decrease with the phase of fruiting. It was obseved a significant and direct correlation between the foliar concentration of P, K and Ca and NF, and a significant and direct association between foliar K and yield produced (Kg).
