Resumen

MEZA, N; ARIZALETA, M  y  BAUTISTA, D. Salinity effect on germination and emergency of seeds of passion fruit (Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa). Rev. Fac. Agron. [online]. 2007, vol.24, n.1, pp.69-80. ISSN 0378-7818.

The salinity effect on the germination and plant emergency of passion fruit (Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa) was evaluated. The saline treatments were distilled water, 0.75; 2.5; 4.5 and 6.5 dS.m-1 for the germination test. The emergency test was carried out under a structure of transparent ceiling, where the saline treatments were applied from 0.75, 2.5, 4.5 and 6.5 dS.m-1. Evaluations were carried out in two established essays daily. The germination percentage was affected negative and significantly with the increment of the saline concentrations. Emergency beginning, time in which 50% of the total emergency is reached and time occurred from 10 to 90% of emergency were not affected, while the percentage of total emergency showed significant differences, with trend to diminish when salt total concentration increases. The biggest emergency percentage was of 79% with the smallest concentration (0.75 dS.m-1) and the minor of 48.6% was 6.5 dS.m-1, the most saline.

Palabras clave : Passion fruit; germination; emergency; salinity.
