Resumen
MORATINOS, P; FLORES, E; GOMEZ, Á y RAMIREZ-VILLALOBOS, M. Rooting on acerola (Malpighia glabra L. and M. emarginata Sessé & Moc. ex D.C.) stakes. Rev. Fac. Agron. [online]. 2008, vol.25, n.3, pp.405-420. ISSN 0378-7818.
In order to improve rooting in acerola stakes, the effect of indole butyric acid (IBA), at 0, 2500, 5000, 7500 and 10000 mg.kg-1 was evaluated in the species Malpighia glabra y M. emarginata. Nine weeks later, the species effect showed significant differences (P<0.05) for percentage of live stakes (PLC), percentage of budded stakes (PBC), shoots number (SN) and shoot length (SL). M. glabra showed the maximum PLC (74%), PBC (59.32%), SN (2.96) and SL (1.94 cm). In stakes with higher PBC there was greater percentage of rooted stakes (PRC), SN, PLC, SL; roots number (RN) and length of longest root (LLR). In the same way, when the SN was high the PRC, SL, RN and LLR were also higher. We conclude that the formation of shoots in the cutting is an important factor for the rooting in acerola and that the IBA application is not necessary.
