This article approaches some research results on the comprehension and production of written texts from meta-linguistic didactics. The fundamental objective of this paper is to ascertain the extent to which a model of educative intervention oriented by cognitive psychology, meta-cognition, meta-linguistics, and the discourse linguistics, facilitate the development of linguistic and communicative competence in a group of subjects excluded from the formal education system. Such model is based on the application of meta-cognitive and meta-linguistic strategies by means of the textual interaction. The qualitative methodology used was action research. In this sense, it is described which elements should be considered when designing and applying a teaching strategy to favor the comprehension and production of the written text.
