The idea behind this article is centered upon confirming, after a careful and thorough study of most of the works of Ana Teresa Torres, the importance of memory, which by means of temporal devices, constructs or deconstructs a story. This paper also tries to show the artful way in which the narrator brings together memory and time. The theory that underlies the development of this article is the author herself, Bachelard, Da Cunha, Russo and Thompkins - to name a few. Following a documentary methodology, the analysis was carried out in three different levels: syntactic, semantic and pragmatic, from a structural perspective. Based on this support, and on the experience of reading the author’s works, it was possible to establish that in Torres`s texts, memory, as well as time, is transformed into ludic acts that give a fixing element to her stories and involve the readers in their actions.
