VASQUEZ, Damaris. Movimiento perpetuo or the (one) writing rehearsal: Augusto Monterrosos writing and meta-writing proposals. Letras [online]. 2006, vol.48, n.73, pp.349-363. ISSN 0459-1283.
The objective of this work is to uncover the writing codes that structure Augusto Monterrosos work Movimiento perpetuo and to interpret them within the context of post-modernity. To do so, the concepts of "literature as a process" (Mukarovsky, 1975) and "literature as a communicative event" (Barrera, 1995 y Van Dijk, 1987) are taken into account. It is concluded that this play represents a rupture with stereotypes linked to literary practice. In this sense, it is coherent with post-modernity values understood as historical questioning. In Monterrosos work discourse heterogeneity, self-referentiality, irony, parody, and humor are formal and semantic procedures with which a literary project is set up and where the critical exercise and creation are both sides of the same coin.
