Resumo

The author proposes the settlement of an agreement between Venezuelan State and the organized civil society in order to build the bases of a National Educational Project that establishes priorities, as well as the continuity of policies and the permanent evaluation of quality. She states that policies must emerge from the Ministry of Education to guarantee free and high quality education for the population at school age and to promote student’s permanence within the educational system as it facilitates an integral education. The author also expresses the importance of the improvement of future teachers’ education through a more human and global curriculum design that enables them to discover what schools are and what they should be in our times.
