This essay presents a theoretical approach emerging from a re-semantization of terms such as erotism, image, similar, diffeence, epiphany, paideia. These re-semantizations derive from the need of presenting discursive perspectives to account for possible homoerotic relationships in Paradiso, of the Cuban writer José Lezama Lima. Our goal is to present a possibility that shows homoerotism as a pleasant meeting with the other, not because of a necessity or a sense of unfulfillment, but as plenitude that results from the similarity with that other. Also, we show how education, understood as a particular paideia, allows for these types of encounters as well as for the possibility of finding the epiphanic in cultural images constantly foregrounded by Lezama Lima in his poetics.
