PEREZ TERAN, Josefa e BARRERA LINARES, Luis. Pragmatic-discursive strategies and epistemological criteria in books for first grade. Letras [online]. 2007, vol.49, n.75, pp.92-130. ISSN 0459-1283.
This article reports a research work whose main aim was to interpret the use of pragmatic-discursive strategies and epistemological criteria found in some reading books for first grade. The identification of such strategies and cirteria, as well as the analysis of their use in these books, was attempted. To do so, the work was developed on the basis of the methodology of Discourse Analysis as presented by Wodak and Meyer, (2003); Charaudeau, (2001); Van Dijk, (1996). The categories defined were: (a) use of terms and textual lexias; (b) psychological theory upon which the author develops contents; (c) presentation of instructions. The results demonstrate that reading books reflect the time when they were written. Abundant values and beliefs are addressed to their readers. These books function as macro-texts, since they approach an amount of information that leads the reader in the acquisition of a general knowledge about other elementary notions besides those of reading.
