Resumen
OJEDA, Ruby. The citizen in Los pequeños seres of Salvador Garmendia and Si yo fuera Pedro Infante of Eduardo Liendo. Letras [online]. 2008, vol.50, n.76, pp.230-279. ISSN 0459-1283.
On the basis of Iser Wolfgangs theory of fictionalization acts, according to which there is a process of selection, combination and self-exposure in every creative act, this paper presents some of the characteristics of the citizen from Caracas as found in Los pequeños seres of Salvador Garmendia and Si yo fuera Pedro Infante of Eduardo Liendo. A brief overview has been carried out of the historic-social context where the works are framed and of the predominant aesthetic postulates of the time. In order to characterize the citizen as conveyed in the stories, the main character was studied in relation to his environment and how it affects his individuality. It was concluded that the changing dynamics of individuality and the social reality affect the citizen in an overwhelming way, which gives birth to a crisis of identity and evasion.
