Resumen
ALVAREZ, Luis Alfredo. Notes on ethics and literature. Letras [online]. 2010, vol.52, n.82, pp.117-130. ISSN 0459-1283.
Literature prevails thanks to acknowledgement and to the reflective illusory possibility of its discourse. In this sense, literature can be stated as that space in the mirror where subjects reflect, and reflect upon, their individual and collective experience. The novel as a literary genre can be understood as the representation of modern έποχή that allows the ethical projection of the subject and the staging of multiple mechanisms for vital decisions in different social contexts. The aesthetic activity of the novel could be called ethics as far as it becomes what Adela Cortina understands as "that form of reflection upon reflection and the language of morality". The aim of these notes is to show, on the basis of Bajtin, how literature allows one to reflect upon the valuative experience of man.
