BLANCO, Mario et al. Efecto de Metoclopramida en Mujeres Hipertensas en Puerperio Inmediato. AVFT [online]. 2000, vol.19, n.1, pp.62-64. ISSN 0798-0264.
Metoclopramide reduces the blood arterial pressure in normotensive and hypertensive subjects during pressor test and in moderate to severe hypertensive subjects pretrated with Labetalol, in preclampsia and equally has hypotensive effect in hypertensive subjects during hypertensive urgency and in rat aortic rings has shown an antidrenergic alfa 1 effect. In the present study we have demonstrated the hypotensive effect of metoclopramide in immediate puerperium from preclamptic women. In light of the present effect with very low dose of metoclopramide compared with the currently used dose in other indications in pregnancy and preeclampsia, metoclopramide constitutes an alternative to be evaluated in the reduced therapeutic arsenal in the wornen with hypertension during and after pregnancy.
