The objective of this study is to evaluate the validity of the TesTstik in comparison with fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA-TDx) and heterogeneous enzyme immunoassay (ELISA), since this test will be soon introduced in Venezuela. Analysis was performed on 69 urine samples, 58 to detect cannabinoids and 61 to detect cocaine. This test is sensitive to drug concentrations at or around the estated cut-off values (cocaine 300 ng/mL and cannabis 50 ng/mL) established by the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA). TesTstik agrees well with the results obtained from FPIA-TDx and ELISA. The evaluation of the test assay showed reliable results and may be recommended when an immediate preventive test result is required.
