As the first step in the development of an education course on breastfeeding directed to students and professionals in the health sector, two prototypes of instructional lessons based on the information and communication technologies were designed: an educational software about the physiology and anatomy of the mamma, and a web page about breast-milk extraction techniques. Both prototypes were evaluated through an expert validation and a pilot test. The results showed that both products were considered attractive, interactive and of high technical and educational quality. It was determined that a technology induction to the audience is advisable to acquire the necessary abilities to manage them. The use of the instruments is recommended for distance education programs or as a complement to a regular academic activity.
