We present a clinicopathological and immunohistochemical study of five undifferentiated thyroid carcinomas. The diagnosis was established by thyroidectomy. The tumors shown anaplastic and sarcomatoid cells. In 4 of the five patients associated well differentiated tumors were found in the thyroid. All of the tumors showed agressive behaviour. We review the associated literature.
