BENITEZ G, G et al. Miocardiopatia Hipertrófica Obstructiva y Embarazo.: Presentación de un Caso y revisión de la Literatura. RFM [online]. 2003, vol.26, n.1, pp.31-33. ISSN 0798-0469.

ABSTRACT  Obstructive hypertrophic miocardiopathy disease is characterized by left ventricular hypertrophy, associated to hyperdinamic pressure gradient. The clinic findings are from asymptomatic to cardiac insufficiency, even sudden death. There are limited publishing trials about this disease and pregnancy, and are many controversial questions between cardiologists and obstetricians about the delivery and delivery cesarean. We described a case of a 20 years old female patient with 30 weeks pregnancy, who was admitted to the Hospital Universitario de Caracas with 6 months of progressive dyspnea and occasional syncope. It was diagnosed obstructive hypertrophic miocardiopathy. The pregnancy, labor and delivery did not have any complications. We present a review of the current literature regarding this disease during pregnancy.
