Abstract: The main finality of medicine is to achieve a better quality of life for the pacient. In order for that to be possible it is not enough for the doctor to settle with studying and treating the physical aspect of the pacients illness. It is equally important for any doctor to have the possibility to cure a pacients soul and spirit. After explaining and analizing different concepts and realities about what the soul and the spirit mean we can notice that it is perfectly possible for a doctor to improve the spiritual quality of life of his or her pacients once he or she accepts that, even though it is not cientificaly proven, the soul and the spirit exist and that they are esencial for the optimal sanity of every human being.
