ALFONZO, B et al. Detección del Virus Papiloma Humano en muestras Cervicales de una población de estudiantes de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. RFM [online]. 2003, vol.26, n.2, pp.120-126. ISSN 0798-0469.
ABSTRACT: Detection and typification of HPV in 102 female University students with cytological or biopsy changes related to the virus was made by PCR and hybridization. Viral positivity was 63.7% with 76.9% of high oncogenic risk types. Mixed high and low risk types were found in 9.2%. In 18.5% of positive samples, the type was undetermined. Histology of HPV changes without atipias was found in 45% samples, CIN I in 20.6%, CIN II in 5.9%, CIN III in 1%. Viral positivity increases with the histological grade, it was 47.8% in HPV changes, 80.9% in CIN I, 83.3% in CIN II, 100% in CIN III; the same was seen with the high risk types percents: HPV suggestive changes 34.7%, CIN I 57,1%, CIN II 100%, CIN III 100%. Viral positivity was higher at the older age group of patients, the same was found in relation whit the number of sexual partners.
