ABSTRACT: The non oncologycal evaluation of the parametrium, like part of the routine gynecological examination, has come in disuse as at the medical bibliography of last the 50 years is reflected. The intention of this work was the clinical evaluation of the parametrium, through the gynecological tact, in 1250 patients of a private consultation between January of 1999 and December of 2001. This group demonstrate the parametrial affectation in 102 cases. In these, the parametrium more affected was the left one with 83 cases (81,4%), then the right in 14 cases (13,7%) and at last, was bilateral in 5 cases (4,9%). Variables like the age, menarquia, first sexual relations, contraceptive method, type of rules, number of gestations and parity are evaluated.
