MAGALDI, L  y  ROCAFULL, J. Farmacovigilancia y hábitos de consumo de medicamentos en los estudiantes de la Escuela de Enfermería de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. RFM [online]. 2004, vol.27, n.1, pp.74-78. ISSN 0798-0469.

ABSTRACT: A descriptive transversal study type was made in 657 students of the Nursing School at the UCV, by means of two instruments approved by the Pharmacovigilance Monitoring Center of the School. The Adverse Events (AE) more frequent by the drug use were determined. The habits of medicine consumption were evaluated, including the pharmacological groups of greater use, the self-medication and the preference of purchase of registered trade mark versus the generic ones. The results reveal that 68,9% of the students have experimented some AE associated to the medicine consumption, being allergic type a 8,9%. In relation to the habit of drug consumption, 81% of the students practice self-medication and 78% prefer to consume generic medicines versus registered trade mark. It is possible to be concluded that the self-medication is very extended between nursing students, having AE risk and the inadequate use of drugs.
