The objective of the present study is to increase the knowledge of the therapists of the José Felix Ribas Foundation, on the interpretation of the results of toxicological test, through a training workshop. This workshop attended by therapists from the Hospital-Día "Casa Petare" (6 psychologists and 2 psychiatrists) and from the Therapeutical Community "El Junquito" (6 psychologists, 2 psychiatrists and 1 social worker). The participants were evaluated on pre-test, postest and follows up, using an instrument with 17 items. The workshop was designed with 55 slides, which takes approximately 3 hours. For the statistical analysis of the results, the non-parametric test of Wilcoxon was applied, using the Graph PAD Atat (Gpis) program. Our results show that the therapists increased their knowledge significantly; this was evident in the postest evaluation, besides, it tends to be maintained through the time which is shown in the follow-up evaluation. These results give support to the efficiency and need of this type of workshop, therefore giving us the base to continue with this activity in other Institutions dedicated to the rehabilitation of drug-dependents.
