Objective: Determine the different retinal complications presented in post operation from patients dealt with PRK. Method: Retrospective study of retinal complications presented in the post operation in 6 876 patients with indication for photorefractive surgery, (137 were made with PRK and 6,739 with LASIK) between 1997-2002 in Cornea and Refractive Surgery service (APEC). Results: Ages between 20 and 51 years, pre operation refractions (-18,50 Sphere -3.25 to and cylinder -0.25 to-4.00). 8 (5.9 %) PRK were made to them and presented RD (5.9 %) in a later period of 3 months and 4 years to the surgery. Conclusion: The use of microkeratomo in the refractive surgery can not be a factor in the consequent appearance of retinal complications but myopia and retinal funduscope changes to this.
