Abstract

VILLALOBOS, JJ; CARRASQUEL, E; CAPRILES, F  and  PEREZ-GONZALEZ, M. INFLUENCIA DE LA SEROLOGÍA DE LA HEPATITIS VIRAL CRÓNICA SOBRE LOS NIVELES DE ERITROPOYETINA ENDÓGENA EN LOS PACIENTES EN HEMODIÁLISIS . RFM [online]. 2005, vol.28, n.2, pp.129-133. ISSN 0798-0469.

We aim to know if the chronic viral hepatitis affects the endogenous erythropoietin values in patients with chronic renal failure under hemodialysis. We studied 40 chronic hemodialized patients from Venezuelan Fresenius Medical Care dialysis unite. Range age 22 -77 years, not having active bleeding, either receiving ReEpoHu or blood transfussions in the last three months. Analysis of erythropoietin was performed by chemoluminiscence. Values were expressed as mean ± DE, as follows: Core: 8, 8 ± 2.03 mU/mL; B hepatitis (HbsAg and Core):12.45 ±1, 85 mU/mL; C hepatitis: 15.33 mU/mL ± 2.91; B and C hepatitis : 12.55 ± 3,06 mU/mL. Control group: 12 ± 2.47mU/mL (without statistic significance). We concluded that chronic B or C hepatitis does not modifie endogenous erythropoietin values in patients with chronic renal failure.

Keywords : Eryhropoietin; Chronic renal failure; B hepatitis; C hepatitis; Hemodialysis.
