PAM test, Lotmar test and interpherometer variation which are used for subject test of visual potential, for that reason we used the PAM in the pre operation evaluation of cataract patients, with the recompilation of the visual acuty post operation. We evaluated 320 eyes of 300 patients, between 40 - 60 years old that look up to the cataracts consult of Hospital Universitario de Caracas, January - August 2005. The 59.38 % were male. The visual acuty pre-operation was -0.6 a -0.7 with 62.50 %. The PAM of these patients was -0.50 with 31.25 %. The 68.75 % get better in 3 and more lines of the Snellen cart. The 62.50 % of the patient in three mounts had presented a visual acuty in 0.00, and a 1.56% had presented and visual acuty in -0.70. The PAM test predicted the visual acuty post operation in patients with cataracts incipient.
