The aim of this work is to determine the reference intervals for the GEN-S autoanalyzer. A total of 236 samples of voluntary blood donors from the metropolitan zone of Caracas were tested. The parameters evaluated consisted in cells blood count including reticulocytes, also hemoglobin, hematocrit (VPRC) and red cell indices. The reference intervals were calculated following NCCLS criteria. For almost all the values the results were similar to the reported by the majority of authors commonly consulted in the literature. For the RDW the average is higher even the dispersion is equal. For the relative value of reticulocytes we observed a lower limit discreetly under the reported in the literature. Serve this work as a contribution for those institutions of the metropolitan area of Caracas, that use this autoanalyzer in routinary work, so they can have reference intervals for our population.
