Objective: To perform searches of the Medline electronic database (2000 to present date) and the Cochrane Controlled Trial Register using the text words training, credentialing and granting of clinical privileges for laparoscopic general surgery. Only articles published in the English and Spanish were considered. The full texts of all studies of possible relevance were obtained, and the reference lists of theses studies were checked for additional repots. We performed a systematic review of the existing evidence and an analysis of the existing data. The laparoscopic surgery is associated with fewer complications and higher efficacy.
