It was realizada prospective, descriptive and transversal study to evaluatevaginal hysterectomy accord to Heaney´s technique in 30 patients with fibroids without hysterocele, attended in Service of Ginecology at Hospital Universitario de Caracas, between July and December 2004. The mean uterine volume was 257 cm³. The morcellation technique was realized in 80 % of cases, for big size of uterus. The mean of hemoglobin decrease was 1.11 g/ dL. It were realized 2 laparotomy, one of them was hemorrhage and the other for big size of uterus. The complications were vesical lesion (3,5 %), hematoma (1 %) and granuloma of vaginal cupola. Post surgery pain was light and discharge time was 29 hours.
