There appears the historical review of the evolution of the Postgrade of General Surgery in the Cathedra of Clinic and Therapeutics "C" - Service of Surgery III of the Hospital University of Caracas, from his opening in the year 1962 in the management rectoral of Dr. Francisco De Venanzi Novi up to the actuality (2010). There are described the formation of the different chairs - services of the University Hospital of Caracas as well as his respective evolution with happening of the years. Equally it is mentioned to the different surgical services and emphasizes the Service of Surgery III, doing in this one, mention in detail of all the General Surgeons gone away with his respective qualifications and special works of investigation (TEI) or the grade (TEG).
