ABSTRACT     Historical details of the Medical Mycology development in Venezuela are checked and the creation of the Medical Mycology Post Grade Course, as an answer to the real country needs in the preparation of a relay generation, that will occupy of the diagnosis and prevention of the mycotic diseases. The objectives of the course, the institutes and the national mycologists that joined efforts to support the development of the teaching activities, extension and investigation that characterized this course are described. Lastly, it is related the creation of the Master’s Degree in Mycology Applied to Health Sciences, final result of an association between the Universidad Nacional Experimental "Francisco de Miranda" and the Instituto Nacional de Higiene "Rafael Rangel", to grant and drive the mycology progress in our country.
