Bees produce secretions useful for construction, nutrition and defense of the bee colony, which can be collected and used by beekeepers. In this review, are presented the functions of beeswax, royal jelly and bee venom in the bee colony, their definitions, composition, harvesting by beekeepers, and quality standards. The Brazilian regulations for beeswax, royal jelly and bee venom are considered as a useful reference, in contrast to the lack of Venezuelan regulations for such bee products. The residues of these products secreted by bees is considered.
