Diverse authors have shown that oxidative stress caused by the paraquat generates precursory fibrogenic, being the lung fibrosis (FP), therefore, the valuation of activity of glutathione peroxidase  (AGPx) could be useful to indicate a possible development of FP after the paraquat  intoxication. Numerous treatments have been used to control and to prevent this condition, however, these have not been conclusive. For that we decided to evaluate the effect of the association N-acetilcysteine (NAC)-Trimetazidine (TMZ) on the AGPx and the FP, in an experimental model with rats intoxicated with paraquat, using 60 rats males divided in 8 groups: 1 (negative control), 2 (positive control, received 11mg/kg of Paraquat IP), 3 (pre-treated with 39 mg/kg NAC VO), 4 (treated with 39 mg/kg NAC VO), 5 (pre-treated with 5 mg/kg TMZ VO), 6 (treated with 5 mg/kg TMZ VO), 7 (pre-treated with NAC-TMZ VO), 8 (treated with NAC-TMZ VO). The results showed: the AGPx in the groups 3, 4, 8 stayed like to the group 1 and with significant changes (P <0.05) with relationship to the group 2, as for the FP in the group 8 a decrease was observed with regard to the group 4. It can be concluded that the association NAC-TMZ maintains AGPx and prevents FP
