PENA, JOSEPMILLY et al. C-erbb-2 correlación con pronóstico y sobrevida en el denocarcinoma de colon. Rev. venez. oncol. [online]. 2007, vol.19, n.1, pp.20-29. ISSN 0798-0582.
OBJECTIVES: Some biology marketers can be ported utile information to the application of varies new and modern therapeutic strategies unfocused for the control of the dissemination and the progression of the individual tumoral cells to determine if exist any correlation between the c-erbB-2 expression and the tumoral state, size of tumor, the invasion deep, differentiation grade, ganglion state local, and the distance recurrence, disease free interval and super life in patients with colon adenocarcinoma. METHODS: Its realized a retrospective study when we included 28 patients with diagnostic of colon adenocarcinoma stage I, II, and III underwent curative surgery in the period between 1994 and 1998; in the Oncology Hospital Padre Machado and in the Pathology service of Hospital Vargas of Caracas, with surgery specimen (paraffin blocks) available to the histological studies and continued observed in our institution. RESULTS: The c-erbB-2 super expression were detected in 8 (28.57 %) of 28 patients. There were significant statistic correlation between the ganglion stage, the grade of tumoral differentiation and the super expression of c-erbB 2: 67 % of the patients with super expression +2 of cerbB-2 has positive ganglion (P≤ 0.034) tumoral differentiation and to be poor differentiation (P≤ 0.002). CONCLUSIONS: The advantages in molecular biology in colon and rectal cancer suggested that the changes to be occurring in the primary tumor define the prognostic of all these patients. The tumors with super expressions of c-erbB-2 presented positive ganglion and minor differentiation grade.
