Resumen

A clinical case of 42 years old woman, with increase abdominal size, 6 month of evolution; physical examination: a pelvic tumor up to umbilical scar, movable, firm, not painful. The ultrasound and CT scan report: tumor in right ovary, of 15.2 x 10.3 cm, with calcium and grease, uterus of 12x9x4 cm, suggestive of dermoid cyst and fibrous uterus. We found at surgery tumor in right ovary, of 15 cm, with large stem; another of 6 cm, in left ovary, fibrous uterus; intraoperatory biopsy: dermoid cysts of right ovary with thyroid gland tissue, the pathologist defer the intraoperatory biopsy. Definitive biopsy: thyroid gland tissue with papillary cancer in right ovarian dermoid cyst, dermoid cyst of left ovary. We present this case due we found thyroid gland tissue in less than 15 % of ovarian dermoid cyst and only occasionally contain any type of thyroid papillary or follicular cancer.
