The giant cell tumor is an unusual tumor, being the sternum and in exceptional site of presentation. In these report we present a patient with giant cell tumor in sternum, and brief review the literature. Is a male patient of 37 years, with current illness began one year before, characterized for given by progressive increase of pain and volume in sternum, he consult to physician and was evaluated, who petition for conventional radiographic and tomography of thorax, and an osseous bony scan, with suspicious of sternums tumor. The patient underwent incision biopsy of sternum that histological diagnostic report a giant cell tumor. We realized him a total oncological resection of the tumor and the sternum and immediately reconstruction defect is filled with osseous cement and prosthesis. In Venezuela there have not been reported any cases of giant cell tumor in sternum. In our Institution it is the first case reported.
