BARRIOS, Ariana; CALDERON, Marian; RITTER, Elsa  y  VELAZCO GUTIERREZ, Yuly. Modificación de la conducta y alimentación balanceada en niños con déficit de atención y desorden de hiperactividad . An Venez Nutr [online]. 2004, vol.17, n.2, pp.13-27. ISSN 0798-0752.

The relation between hyperactive conduct and diet has been studied, in the past, for Feingold, although the developed researches are scarce in the country related to topic. The research objective was to assess the effect of RDO and balanced diet in the control of the conducts of TDAH. The present study carried out with six children with diagnostic and ages between six and nine years. We used a quasi-experimental design of static comparation, intra-subject combined with a balanced conduct design with form A - B - C: Phase A: base line (Groups 1 and 2), Phase B: balanced diet (Group 1) and RDO (Group 2), Phase C: balanced diet + RDO (Group 1) and RDO + balanced diet (Group 2). The results pointed : 1.- both treatment (RDO and balanced diet) minimized the conducts of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (TDAH) at home, 2.- RDO produced the most immediate and stable reductions of the conducts of TDAH in comparison to the balanced diet, while produced the slowest changes and 3.- the treatments addition produced the most evident reductions of the conducts. According to results obtained, it seems that, the balanced diet is a clinic intervention tool effective for controlling the TDAH. Still the results of this study are encouraging, they are not conclusive. Its necessary more researches that incorporate the diet as basic element of treatment in this psychological disorder, with sample most representative and control of others variables.
