Resumen
MONTES DE OCA, Acianela. La información en salud en revistas dominicales: ¿una vía para la publicidad indirecta?. An Venez Nutr [online]. 2004, vol.17, n.2, pp.73-81. ISSN 0798-0752.
The information published in the sections of health of the magazines Todo en Domingo (El Nacional) and Estampas (El Universal) was analyzed for a period of 6 months. After an analysis of the texts and its advertising context, an average of 40 % of the articles were linked to the publicity found in the same edition. Also in texts elaborated by the journalists contained promotional information of products and services. In both magazines, the majority of the articles published on topics of nutrition and diets, psychology and physical exercising, were areas that coincided directly with the principal announcements of those magazines. This seems to demonstrate a tendency to the loss of independence of the journalist who covers information in health in these y magazines, and a systematical violation of the Code of Ethics of the Venezuelan Journalist.
