This work explores the disparity between the circulation of discourses that support the need to strengthen knowledge concerned with the teaching of reading and writing in foreign and mother languages and the implementation of institutional language policies at a Faculty of Exact Sciences. We analyze to what extent the social representations influence this fragmentation. Based on the data provided by the methodological and theoretical framework, results are analyzed, and conclusions are drawn.
