Since the 1970s, oil has been Ecuador's main export, revealing a specialized economy in this sector. In addition to generating export revenue, it attracts foreign investments across various sectors. A study analyzes the influence of oil prices and foreign direct investment on Ecuador's economic growth (2013-2022). The results demonstrate the high volatility of crude oil prices due to global imbalances. Although FDI is limited, oil remains crucial to the Ecuadorian economy, though other activities also have an impact.
