This study analyzed the cointegration between fuel imports (diesel) and Ecuador's economic growth (2004-2024) using the Johansen method, used in quantitative-descriptive studies with stochastic models. The most relevant result showed more than one cointegration vector with a probability of less than 5%. It was concluded that diesel imports have been fundamental for the Ecuadorian economy.
