This study evaluated the impact of the STEAM approach at the Rural School of Terao, Chile, using a mixed-methods design that included practical activities in programming and design. Results showed increased motivation and participation among students, although persistent gender stereotypes were identified. The discussion highlights the importance of innovating educational methodologies to promote equity. In conclusion, the STEAM approach is effective in developing 21st-century skills in rural contexts.
